Greens

Climate change initiatives are going to hurt like any other withdrawal from addition. They will cost money and reduce efficiency, but we have to get healthy now.

Logistics

Trucking. Reduce load size so that smaller, electric trucks can handle the weight. Heavily-taxed diesel haulers will still be needed to transport bulky cargo.

Travel

Electric trains, not planes.  Flying must not be a standard mode of travel. Travel by train or auto will take MUCH longer, and we must allocate time in our lives for that. Multi-state/international businesses and people who live a distance away from loved ones will make the biggest sacrifices here by spending more time on travel or paying more to fly. Flights will be heavily taxed to finance increasingly-efficient rail lines. Source: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/27/climate/airplane-pollution-global-warming.html

Military Training

Training flights gotta happen for military and commercial pilots. Fortunately, flight simulator realism improves yearly, reducing the number of flight hours required in the airplane. Training platforms for other types of vehicles will also improve, and locality-immersion platforms increasingly mimic the real world. Governments might offer Assassin’s Creed programmers big bucks to share their experience crafting realistic geography.

Diet

Eat vegetables. If every red-meat eater reduces consumption by half, deforestation for food production will decrease. I am a partner in a BBQ restaurant venture, so this post is more hypocritical than a frog disdaining an anteater; I own a restaurant yet tout the benefits of reduced meat consumption. Serving suggestion: Ranch dressing. Source: https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2018/may/31/avoiding-meat-and-dairy-is-single-biggest-way-to-reduce-your-impact-on-earth

Have a soy taste test. This could be a fun activity with the kids! Bring home a range of alternative milk products and soy and rate them. Which can your family use to reduce your consumption of dairy?

Gardening

Get plantin’ trees. Yes, those nut and fruit trees take 5 – 10 years to produce. That’s okay! You are allowed to plant trees that might not grow food until you have moved away and somebody else lives at your current home. Consider it the perfect pass it on.
